Do not use Megamentinc 625 if:
- You are allergic to any ingredient in Megamentinc 625 or another penicillin antibiotic (eg, ampicillin)
- you have a history of problems with the liver or yellowing of the eyes or skin caused by Augmentin
- you have an infectious mononucleosis (mono)
- You are taking tetracycline antibiotic (eg, doxycycline)
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Before using Megamentinc 625:
Some medical conditions may interact with Megamentinc 625. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicine, herbal preparation or dietary supplements
- if you are allergic to medicines, food or other substances
- if you have a history of asthma, hay fever, or urticaria
- if you have had severe allergic reactions (eg, severe rash, hives, shortness of breath, dizziness), cephalosporin (eg cephalexin) or another beta-lactam antibiotic (eg imipenem)
- if you have kidney or gonorrhea problems
- if you have a history of problems with the liver or yellowing of the skin or eyes
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Augmentin. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because the risk of bleeding may be increased
- Probenecid, as this may increase the risk of the side effects of Augmentin in
- Chloramphenicol, macrolide antibiotics (eg, erythromycin), sulfonamides (eg, sulfamethoxazole), or tetracycline antibiotics (eg, doxycycline), because they may decrease the effectiveness of Augmentin in
- Methotrexate because the risk of side effects may be increased by Augmentin
- control Hormonal contraception (eg, contraceptive) because their effectiveness can be reduced by Augmentin
